TECAL THEATRE: LIFE, PASSION AND DEATH OF YOUNG CARBONELL
Review: Carbonell comprises one of the most contradictory and dynamic periods in Colombian history. This patriot was born in Santa Fe in 1778 and died on June 19, 1816 victims of the repression of Morillo, is known in the history of the independence of Colombia as the "spark of the Revolution" for his decisive action in the political facts July 20, 1810 where he led and organized the popular board permanent San Victorino, who starred in the revolt that led to the proclamation of independence.
A shaker character thanks to its word and deed pressed together with the people, that the "Act of Independence" by the criollo remarkable not stay in a weak submission to the regency and Fernando VII, as intended by some of our famous "heroes", who do figure prominently in the "Olympus" Creole unfairly. Despite playing an important role in these events, Carbonell has been almost erased from history. His thought and action is almost unknown and has been given the rightful place it deserves in the memory of the Colombians. Carbonell's disappearance from school textbooks and academics makes us wonder about so many hidden facts of our history have been distorted by political interests or by the same popular imagination.
